A retired English Professor whose wife died of Alzheimer’s escapes into reading and responding to Spam on the internet angering his neighbors because of his overgrown lawn; however, when a young woman shows up to cut his grass, they decide to transform his property into a small farm angering his neighbors even more. Gradually, we see suburbia become a community farm where homeless people occupy empty foreclosed houses on the street and the American Dream clashes with reality when ordinary folks take back their lives in surprising ways.
